World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

    3/4 c  Granulated sugar
      1 c  Brown sugar
      1 c  Butter
      1 tb Vanilla
      2    Eggs, slightly beaten
      3 c  Flour
    3/4 ts Baking soda
    3/4 ts Salt
      3 c  Semi-sweet chocolate chips
      1 c  Chopped nuts (optional)
 
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
 
In a large bowl, combine sugars; add in butter and cream together with the sugar. Add vanilla and eggs; mix together.
 
In a separate bowl sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well; the dough will be stiff. Add the chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
 
Line the cookie sheets with baking parchment or wax paper. Drop dough with a small ice cream scoop onto the sheets.

Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees F. Remove from oven and cool on wire racks.
 
Variation: For ice cream sandwiches, turn one cookie face down, place a scoop of ice cream on it and top with another cookie.
 
Yield: 2 1/2 dozen.

 

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookies

      2 c  Butter
      2 c  Sugar
      2 c  Brown sugar
      4    Eggs
      2 ts Vanilla
      4 c  Flour
      5 c  Blended oatmeal, (blend in
           -blender to a fine powder)
      1 ts Salt
      2 ts Baking powder
      2 ts Baking soda
     24 oz Chocolate chips
      8 oz Hershey chocolate bar,
           -(grated)
      3 c  Chopped nuts
 
Mix butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla. Add flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Stir in chocolate chips, grated hershey bar and nuts.
 
Drop by large teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 375 degree 6 to 8 minutes. (Makes 10 dozen) .

Giant Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

    1/2 c  Shortening
      1 c  Brown sugar; packed
      1    Egg
    1/2 c  Sour cream
  1 1/2 ts Vanilla
      3 c  Chocolate chips; divided
  1 3/4 c  Flour
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Baking powder
    1/2 ts Baking soda
    1/2 c  Walnuts; chopped
 
Heat oven to 350. Cream shortening with sugar. Mix in egg, sour cream, and vanilla.

Melt 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and blend with creamed mixture.

Stir flour with salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, stirring until smooth.

Fold in nuts and remaining chocolate chips.

Chill dough 1/2 hour.

For giant cookies, use ice cream scoop or 1/4 cup dough for each cookie.

Place on 3 greased baking sheets. Flatten slightly to 3 inches.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until still slightly soft in the center. Makes 16 giant cookies.

Mrs Fields Chocolate Chip Cookies

      1 c  Brown Sugar
    1/2 c  Granulated Sugar
    1/2 c  Butter
    1/2 c  Margarine
      2 md Eggs, beaten
      2 ts Vanilla Extract
    1/2 ts Milk
    1/2 ts Water
  2 1/4 c  Flour
      1 ts Baking soda
    1/2 ts Salt
     12 oz Chocolate Chips
      1 c  Chopped Walnuts

Mix sugars, butter and margarine in an electric mixer. Add eggs, vanilla, milk, and water. Mix well.

Next mix in flour, baking soda, and salt; then chocolate chips and nuts.

Wear a plastic glove when forming golf ball-sized lumps of dough.

Chill in refrigerator about a day.

Set dough on ungreased lightweight baking sheet and flatten with gloved hand.

Cook at 325 Degrees F. for about 12 to 15 minutes

Cookies will be very soft when taken from oven. Carefully lift with spatula and place on rack to cool.

Big Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies


  1 1/2    Sticks Unsalted Butter
      2 c  + 2 Tbl. Unsifted, Bleached,
           -All Purpose Flour
    1/2 ts Baking Soda
    1/2 ts Salt
      1 c  Light or Dark Brown Sugar
    1/2 c  Granulated Sugar
      1 lg Egg + 1 Yolk
      2 ts Pure Vanilla Extract
  1 1/2 c  Chocolate Chips
 
Place a rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat oven to 325 F. Temperature is critical so use an oven thermometer to verify the correct oven temperature and adjust as necessary.

Melt the butter in a small saucepan and set aside to cool until it’s lukewarm.

In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt. Do not sift.

Place both sugars in a medium mixing bowl. Pour melted butter into sugar and mix until completely blended. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix until blended. Add flour mixture and mix until blended. Add chocolate chips. Mix just until chips are evenly distributed.
 
Place the cookies (about 6 per sheet) onto the cookie sheets. Put cookies in oven and bake for about 12 to 15 minutes or until cookes turn a light golden brown

Cool cookies completely on the cookie sheets.
